This stone has been erected by the Officer Commanding the Company as a small tribute of respect to his memory as a worthy Non Commd Officer Good Soldier and an Honest Man
Long I my Country's battles fought. Obey'd the bugle call
Into pitch'd actions with the French, I've seen my colleagues fall
Wounded and maimed yet full with life I saw each field our own
And cherished fair, the happy hope to end my days at home
